Week 16

Amorosa Familia,

I have started to eat mac n cheese with some lunch meat, cucumbers, just branching out, but mainly tortillas. Have fun in AZ!! I am getting a sick watch-line tan so I hope you all have fun down there!! 

I have had a couple friends write me so far. Got my first mail this last ZTM which was a blessing and a half. I was having a really bad Wednesday, just not really energized, feeling down, that sort of thing. Then we had this amazing training at the ZTM, missionaries that are leaving bore their testimonies, and I got a letter! So that really made my day. Some friends have been emailing me, but because we are all missionaries, we don't talk about a lot. So talking to the people in the streets (contacting) is going pretty good. The real test will be on Wednesday when my companion is going to do splits in another area so I will be the companion that is in charge (scary!!) Other than that, here we go.

Food: Every Wednesday we eat with this less active guy named E. Super nice guy who always gives us bastante (a lot) comida. My stomach always hurts after eating but I think I've figured some stuff out. We have pretty much always had a dinner this week. We ate enchiladas (the real kind because it was Mexicana;) ) and they gave us like 7... ugh it was hard but they were so good!! We ate last night with la familia V so you should've gotten a picture. They fed us chicken and rice... it was good. On PDAY last week we went to this sandwhich store that was amazing, it was soooo good. We also had burgers this week (oh it was heaven) and yah, just awesome food this week. I haven't really tasted food that I didn't like yet, I just can't finish it because they love giving seconds and then dessert, and then second dessert... ugh ;)

Contacts: We were walking down this alley when a guy asked us "why did you guys have to go and change the Bible?" we talked for like 5 minutes (that's way too long) and it basically came down to this. He wanted to have the prophet come to his house or else the man isn't a prophet, missionaries should be teaching the rich people instead of the poor because the Bible is helping them and not the poor people. ??? Idk he was drunk so it was interesting. We have just been trying to talk to everyone that walks past us. This guy stopped us and apparently he has a major in Theology, his dad is Jewish, and he is a Nazarene?? So basically he knew "everything" and just blabbed to us. I just thought while he was talking about the talk that Uchtdorf gave about the Grace of God. I really like the part that says that even if we were to work as diligently as possible, we could not return to the presence of God, the Atonement is the only way in which we can return to our Heavenly Father. AND then this punk kid was trying to tell us that Bill Nye disproved the Bible with science about this and that which made me think back to ANOTHER talk by Uchtdorf saying that if we want to know of something scientific, we use scientific tools, and if we want to know about something spiritual, we use spiritual tools (the scriptures) so basically I love Pres. Uchtdorf.

We had a couple investigators tell us that they want to make friends with people in the ward. We talked to the bishop about it and he said that he would get on that. We see miracles everyday. Sometimes we will be having one of the worst days, nobody wants to talk to us, or whatever, but ALWAYS something good happens. We have this investigator named M, oh man is he super nice. He almost always can sit and talk with us, but he doesn't know if God is there and so he doesn't want to accept a baptismal date. He asked us if we could hang out or play basketball with him, but we can't because its against the rules (for good reasons) so it broke our hearts to tell him no. We our hopefully having a FHE with la familia V tonight with him and another investigator so hopefully all goes well. We set a baptismal date last night (fingers crossed) because whenever we set a baptismal date, we cannot make contact for the next week. 

I finished reading the Book of Mormon this week, prayed about it, and well, you all can guess the rest:) Super spiritual, I love the Book of Mormon, always there is something that applies to whatever is going on in life, you just have to pray to have it help you in whatever circumstances. I think I am going to do the study ideas in PMG but IDK how that is going to work out because my english BOM is falling apart (de repente) and so I might just use  another copy and put that one away for a bit. 

The language is going good, I started the Spanish Study Book again just because I felt like nothing of what I was learning was sticking, so back to the basics I guess. I am caught up in my reading in El Libro de Mormon so that is all good.

Read the scriptures every day, pray always, go to church. I think there is a reason that those are the primary answers AND the way that investigators OR anyone gains a testimony of the restored gospel and of the Book of Mormon.

Week 15

Hermosa Familia,

To start off, let us answer the many questions ya'll have. Language is coming pretty good, probably not as good as it could've been in Peru, but I generally follow most lessons and can help teach a lot, I just make grammar mistakes, but hey, I still got time to correct those;) Driving is good, My companion is very patient with me, so I appreciate that a lot. We had a training this last Tuesday on the IPADs and how to use them wisely, all that good stuff. We will be getting them in about 2 ish weeks, but really all they will be used for at the beginning is like Progress Reports and Area/ Referrals. Nothing too fancy, just to make sure that the missionaries are going to be obedient. I figure that the missionaries who abuse the IPADs won't really appreciate the work that they are doing, so I'm not worried about misusing the IPADs in any way. The training was presided by Elder Shwitzer of the Seventy (I think that's his name) and he was cool. We also had Brother Gonzalez there and he was awesome too. When we shook their hands along with the mission president and his wife, President stopped and stared into my soul and he made me feel so loved. It was kinda awkward but kinda nice at the same time.

So investigators: This week has been kinda crazy. We had this investigator who we started to read with everyday for 10 minutes to help him to quit smoking. It was going good, until one day we couldn't meet and the next day he told us that he started to read a Bible that made more sense to him because he could relate to the stories more...UGH! We started a fast with him and were planning on going to the Visitor Center with him, but he woke up in the middle of the night, had a glass of milk, and then decided to smoke. We said that's ok and checked to see if he still wanted to go the VC with us, he said no (UGH!!!) and that we could next week. He also told us that he would feel more comfortable going to an English ward so we told the Elders for the Single Adults ward, it all work out, he will be baptized, just wait. We have this family who is super ready to be baptized but they want to move to Utah, be baptized, and then sealed in the Temple. We don't really know how to feel about this because it's like this: They are going to be baptized, but why wait? Why wait to receive blessings from God?? We also set a baptismal date with an investigator who is extremely catholic and its hard for him to understand things. BUT he committed to a date so we are working for that. We had 6 investigators in Sacrament Meeting this week which was huge (we could've had more but things happen) and one of the investigators basically told us that she wants us to baptize her and that she will do whatever it takes... fingers crossed. We also had this guy tell us that "We can come and ask him questions about the things he doesn't like about our church" if I understood his Spanish correctly. We are meeting with him today, yikes. (Restoration, Restoration, Restoration!)

Food: I LOVE HONEYBUNCHES OF OATS!! oh heavens this family gave us a box and I downed that sucker! we also found them at the 99c store so I got 2 boxes. SOOO good. I also had fish tacos (remember, trying to like all foods) and they were sooo good. I had about 6 I think. Maybe the member is just a good cook, but that fish and the sauce was fantastic. The food is way good here, nothing too crazy, I took a lot of pictures of the food so hopefully they will send. (Have you received the other ones that I have sent to you already???) We also had Tortas, which is basically a sandwich on a special type of bread. We also go to Yogurtland every P-day because hey, its good.

Splits: so we did splits this week and I went with Elder P in the South Central LA area, so the slums kinda. A guy got shot, police are just everywhere, it was cool. We had a lesson with an investigator and I set a baptismal date with her. That is the second time that I have set a baptismal date on splits, BOOM! But she didn't come to church so I hope that everything works out for her. She also gave us Pan con Pollo, which is basically a sandwich again but she had this special sauce that was amazing. The dinner that we had was with a member family. They presented hot taquitos with lettuce, avocado, pico de gallo, and soup. I began to eat with my fork when they said "Elder, Gringo! No puedes comerlo con un tenador...use sus dedos" basically telling me that it was finger food. Mom, you would've had a fit I truly believe. It was so good though. They also told a joke in Spanish (that I understood but it wasn't really that funny) and they told me that I would know that I am fluent in a language when I understand AND laugh at the jokes, so be prepared... my humor is going to become more dry than it already is.

Funny contacts: People telling us that Jesus Christ wasn't baptized. Meeting a bunch of Egyptian Orthodox people (like an entire block) and all of them telling us that we have nice smiles, look British, and that they like us because we aren't Jehovah Witnesses. Meeting catholics and them telling us that we are the devil on the earth, and then when we ask them for referrals (we try to ask everybody) they tell us to visit those in jail or in the hospital, or that they don't know their neighbors. Ok, if you are a true follower of Christ, you know your neighbor. 2 if we are the Devil, why send us to the hospital??? that's messed up. We also contacted this English teacher at a school and man, she was emphasizing every little grammar mistake that most people make when speaking, it was almost annoying. She kept saying "well" where appropriate and "than" emphasizing it so that it was clearly understood. We have also had people tell us that they knew that Jesus visited the Americas but had never read the Book of Mormon before... weird. I feel like whenever someone tells us that they don't have time to hear a message or that they are not interested, I feel like telling them "Look, God has this awesome plan for you, and I mean, if you don't want to receive blessings from Him... ok, bye, have a good night" But we don't we just smile and try back again another day. 

My companion also teaches in Spanish in his sleep, its a good lesson. I think the investigators should hear it. :) You guys should really read the Liahona... wow. That is awesome. I love going back through it. We have it on tape in the car (well flashdrive) and its in Spanish so whenever I don't understand something, I go back and read it in English, then Spanish (cause we have both)

So everything is going good, just going with the flow at this point, or trying to get into the flow... whichever happens first I guess. I am on track to finish the Book of Mormon this week if I continue to read my 10 pages a day. I have been falling behind in my reading in Spanish, but I am trying to get back on track with that. Language will come with time, I am just struggling to speak the words that I want to because I don't know a lot of grammar.

Week 14

Hello beautiful family!!

The food that we have been having isn't really weird. I mean we have pupusas which are amazing and everyone from El Salvador (half the ward) says that they make the best so that is what we eat a lot of. We had pizza and spaghetti with la familia V, so that was a nice refresher. 

This week has been a roller coaster. We haven't really had a lot of success it seemed like, so I was getting a little sad. One day I was kinda bummed and it just stunk. Throughout this week though we have had a lot of funny contacts, because hey, we talk to everyone. (I am actually struggling with that still, but I think that I am improving A LOT) So there was this couple and we stopped them. They asked us all of these doctrinal questions and it was like, bam! bam! answer this, answer that. ALL DONE! We told them that we could send the missionaries to their house (they are out of our area) and they said that they would like that. We have had some of the funniest stories this week. This stoned lady was behind her house and we said hi to her, she RAN around the house because she wanted to talk to us. She (with her eyes all crazy and her body shaking) told us that she believed in spirits and demons cause her sister who passed away appeared to her in the form of a giant dove that hit her window and when it hit is said "hey sis, I'm ok" oh I tried so hard not to laugh. She asked if we could say a prayer for her and her "demons" so we did. We went into an area that we haven't been into recently just to knock some doors and contact to hopefully get some return dates or a lesson or two. Elder W knocked on a door and the lady asked "Who is it?" "The missionaries!" she answered and she was on the phone. We asked if she believed in Christ and she was taken back , and said to the lady on the phone "did you hear that! some white boys don't think I believe in Christ!!" the lady on the other line said "tell them to go away!!" and the lady in front of us said "ahahaha have a nice day, I'm gonna put a soliciting sign up so you can't come back!!" Funny part is, we can... cause we don't sell anything... awkward. I love knocking on the doors that have the sign "Soy Catolico, no aceptamos las propogandas de otras religiones" (you guys can figure that out) anyways, they are always fun to knock. This older guy told me that Mormons where vile and a cult because we have too many wives. We told him that thats incorrect. He said that "well in Utah" so I jumped in and told him that I am from Utah and that I only have 1 mother and that polygamy was actually illegal before the 1900s in Utah. He looked at me and said "oh..." and we gave him a card:) Another guy stopped us and said that he married a Mormon lady and that she was "excommunicated a couple times".... WHAT!!!??? so that was awkward.. but he gave us water bottles so we said thank you. I love it when people from other religions say that "No prophet can follow Christ" I mean, have you even read the Bible?? You have John, Peter, Paul... heck you wouldn't even know about Christ if they didn't write about it!! Anywho, we just look for latinos and normally they are really nice.

With our investigators we have a few that seem like they have potential. One investigator is having trouble with the WoW and we asked him if it would be ok if we read 10 minutes every day with him. He said yes and that's what we have been doing. God is really helping him. He promised us that he would come to all 3 hours of church and go to the VC with us next week so we are stoked. One of the families that we have know all the lessons and have a testimony of the Book, they just don't want to be baptized... yet. They told us at the end of July... WHAT?? because they have family in Utah that wants to see them baptized and blah blah blah.. I'm not sure they even understand their excuse. We brought the ward missionaries with us to teach a family so hopefully everything goes well there. 

This week I have learned a lot about grace. Do you remember Uchtdorf's talk this last conference creo? pues era muy bien and it talks about the gift of grace. Basically it comes down to this: We are nothing without the Savior. He is the ONLY reason we will make it to heaven and be with our families and loved ones for eternity. Why do we keep commandments then? Because we love God. its that simple. We go to church because we love God, we go to the temple, because we love God. We do everything out of our love for God and hopefully, one day, we will understand a speck of the love that he has for us. 

Well that's what I learned a lot about this week, sorry that this letter is short. You know it's been a fast week when the letters are shorter hehehehe.

Week 13

Hello lovely family,

Basically I've started to eat all the foods that I said I hated... ya ya told ya so whatevs Tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, and tortillas is my main foods right now so laugh all you want.

So that family,  are some of the most sweetest people on the planet. We had a home night in their house and man do they go FULL OUT!! They had himnos to spare and an app that played all the himnos. The food was way good too, bread with cheese and jalapeños... yummy:) Other foods that I ate this week were pupusas, which is a flour tortilla that is thick, and you fill it with cabbage and lettuce and hot sauce, I had 2 and my comp had 5. I also ate frijoles (black bean kind) and avocados.. lets say I'm learning to love the food, I ate all that I was given so hey, I'm improving. 

My companion cut my hair today. IDK if it looks good, but gel can always fix things until the next hair cut. There was a club of corvettes that drove by us one day, like 20 corvettes, old, new, all of the above. It was crazy.There are just a lot of old cool cars here, Dad would like it. 

Our investigators are being a little frustrating. We have an investigator who has a baptismal date and is trying to overcome some trials in his life, but he keeps going back to old habits, so we are definitely praying for him. We have this family that we went to the visitors center with and they knew ALL the questions that the sisters asked them there BUT they don't have a baptismal date because they "don't want to do something that they don't know is right" yet they feel "peace with the missionaries and when we read the BOM as a family" UGH, so frustrating. They even come to church and everything! It's really frustrating when we set a baptismal date with an investigator and then never see them again, it gets awkward. There is a less active family that was really nice to let us in, they told us that the reason why they don't want to come to church is because they are "messing with the dark side" for a bit, and that "we have gone through 200 missionaries soooo, good luck" but we can have dinner with them and they are completely open to talk. 

Transfers!!! I am staying, but we all knew that... My comp said that most Spanish missionaries will end up being in a English area for a couple transfers later in the mission and that its good and bad. He said that the missionaries told him that they learned more Spanish there because their comp didn't know Spanish so that had to do ALL the talking. o ha la que no voy a cambiar a ingles... no.

They are combining the zone that I am in with another zone though. A lot of the missionaries in the zone are going home, so they are all trunky, its bad. 

I started to read the pocket handbook, that's crazy good. I finished PMG in English so now I will only read it in Spanish. I am about half way in the Book of Mormon and I am color coordinating scriptures. (you might want to send a blue lead for the pen for my BDay) I already have an extra, but I am reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish and whenever there is a reference of Christ, I mark in blue... so I'm almost out and not even 100 pages in.

Elder W and I are trying to do more role plays during comp study. They are the worst things because you suck so bad during them, but during the actual lesson, they help A LOT! Whenever we are contacting (I am doing better, but still not as much as I should) some people will just say "Thank you" before we will say anything and to get them to talk to us we reply "for what?" anywho, lots of Catholics that don't want to change because they are 'comfortable' where they are.

"There is no growth in the comfort zone, and no comfort in the growth zone"... for real.

My stomach started to hurt at the beginning of the week, but it's fine right now and I'm pretty sure it was just the air or something that day. Our vecino makes our apartment smell like mota so ya, its kinda a hassle.

Week 12

Happy (Late) Mother's Day!!

So my companion was just talking to the inactive member that was in the house with us, it was his computer that we were using. My companion went after me, so I was first hahaha. I had to start over on the training, but its not a checklist like in Peru, just an overall "you can do it!" type thing, so i'm actually caught up I think. I am slowly getting confident enough to contact 10, but not even close this week, still a work in progress. Transfers are next week, but I think that I will be in this area for the next 6 months. Many missionaries have told me that they were in their first area for 6 months, but its not a guarantee.

So this week was just crazy. We were contacting in an area and this guy told us that "we should be doing our homework" and it was around 7!! I was thinking "Bro! I know more about school than you do!" It was just very belittling. There is this particular street that last week was very good for us, but this week was a whole different story. We had one investigator say that they were too busy and that we should call before we came to teach. Another investigator (we are told to do daily contact to check up on our investigators) said that we were calling too much. The funny thing was that we were wondering "why didn't you return a call? why didn't you tell us the first time that it was too much?" anywho, she told us that she "would call us" so I think the Lord just needs to touch her heart a little more. Another investigator was shocked when we told him that Jesus Christ appeared in the Americas. Most people just don't care when we say that but this time he's like "whoa, wait. How?" and we said "He's Jesus bro" and then went from there. It was awesome. There are so many funny people that we talk to in the streets. One guy believes in Christ, Virgin Mary, Virgin of Guadelupe, the Ten Commandments, and he says he's an atheist...??? ya weird. When it was raining, we talked to this couple and the guy asked "are there like, a million of you guys walking around?" I said: "I hope so!!" he gave me a high five and we got his address, too bad he isn't in our area. We ran into a pastor while teaching and he was saying all this stuff about "how do you know that what you're doing is God's will?" anywho he just wanted to Bible bash us so we left. MIND BLOWN: the Tree of Life is the opposite of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.. cool huh? never thought about that. 

There was this lady that stopped us yesterday (I told you already but here is the whole story) and asked if we are missionaries. We said yes and went over to talk to her. She asked "Do you know, if you were to die tonight, where you would go?" we said yes like all missionaries and she said "Why?" now her voice is what made this experience, her voice was extremely depressing and went up and down, but on a very different level. We told her why we would go where we would go and she didn't even care about what we said. she just said "well maybe you left this out on accident but" and went off about how we are all sinners and dying and the cross, lake of fire and brimstone... blah blah blah for 5 minutes! She would act like she knew the bible and say "Mathew 28: Jesus died" or something like that and i'm thinking, you know, that's not all that's in that chapter cause I'm pretty sure that they could've fit those two words in another chapter to save space I think. Long story short, Elder W started to count how many times she said death and the total was 30. She only said life 1 time. It was really depressing. 

We had a lesson with an investigator that was having a hard time understanding the Apostasy, so we compared it to a gang (he's in a gang). We said that the top guys were all killed and the peons wanted to run the gang, but because they weren't chosen/ didn't have the authority, they couldn't right? He was like YA!! and so that lesson was weird but hey, the message came across and he's coming to church on Sunday;) We are almost always contacting golden investigators in the streets, but because they speak english and not spanish, we cannot teach them. This Tongan guy (named D) is going through a rough time in his life, divorce, no job, homeless for a while. But he is staying a friends house and he is just grateful for everything. When we were teaching him he was saying that his life was easier when he went to church and said his prayers, we were like "Bro!! haga lo!" but we had to turn him over to the english elders cause he doesn't understand spanish that well. An investigator came to church!! His name is D and he wants to take things slow, but he has already started to read the Book of Mormon from page 1 so hey, that's better than most contacts/ investigators. I want one day to just get a text from him that says "Bautizarme!" oh it would be awesome. 

Other than that I think it's still the same old same old, trying to know the streets, trying to memorize names, etc. One of the members' mom had a terrible accident. She was drinking (we think) and fell. When she woke up in the hospital she had a huge gash in her head and she cannot see (no puedo ver) and the YM is so strong. The first people he told was the bishop and the missionaries. We came over cause he asked us to, and shared a message (Helaman 5:12) and he told us that it happened on his birthday (the day before) and 364 days before he could go on a mission... wow. 

I hope that's all... Probably not, but whatevs.

We run/ jog/ I pant for 45 minutes in the morning, it is ridiculous!! I think that is why I might be losing weight instead of gaining weight. My companion is also worried about gaining weight cause he has lost a lot of muscles cause of the mish and I'm sitting here like "bro, beef me up!!" 

I want lots of emails, cause goodness I want to read what ya'll are doing!!

Week 11

Hi Everybody!

So to answer all the questions: My area is actually in Hawthorne California, our ward is in Inglewood. The apartment is really good, there is HOT WATER!! A lot of the times its really hot and humid in the apartment though, cause its LA. Found out that it rains 2 times a year, like 2 days out of the year. No need for the trench coat hahaha. I don't think I have forgotten anything, just probably wanted more candies throughout scripture study this week, but hey todo esta bien.

Mother's Day we can skype! I don't know all the details... but I think I can call from our phone and we can figure it out GET THAT SKYPE UP!!

The food here is taking some getting use to, I am just not use to eating as much as they are giving me, but the food is great. There is this type of Latino food called Mole, basically its a bunch of stuff made into a soup with chili’s and chocolate, yummmy!. Other than that it has been chicken and rice... no comment. We feed ourselves for breakfast and for lunch so I've been having cereal and tortilla wraps. Ya, who knew that I would willingly put mayo on a tortilla with lettuce and meat and that, was my lunch? who knew.

Elder W is really helpful, he doesn't talk much so I think that I annoy him, but he's a really good missionary and he's the district leader. We had a lot of spiritual experiences with setting baptismal dates (fechas) and with the fechas, one fell through cause she didn't come to church, the other told us that she didn't want anything to do with us, and another family slammed the door in our face when they saw that it was us. UGH! but hey that's the mish. We contact a lot in the streets 20 a day keeps el diablo away. So we each have to do 10. Elder W ends up doing about 15-20 a day but I'm getting better. I just need to remember that I have a little part of Dad in me;) I like the area because I can talk to people in both Spanish and English, but that just makes it harder to learn the language. I have a good studying plan for Spanish, but who knows if it will work.

Elder W went to OU for wrestling so he is getting me in shape, like every morning at 6:15 I am running with him and doing who knows what, he's a beast. He said his mom is a health fanatic and makes brussel sprout  stuff... hehehe.

We had intercambios this week and I was with Elder P, he's from an African Island by Madagascar. We rode bikes, anyways the intercambio with Elder P, there is an investigador who was a self reference. He told the missionaries that he needed their help to get over his drinking problem. So I was able to teach a lesson to him with Elder P. Wow, muy poderoso. He is golden. Then we ate dinner with this family that I thought were members, and they were asking questions like "what is the church's stance on marrying someone from another religion?" and I thought they were testing me (idk I was off) so I simply told them that I think its recommended to get married in the temple, you know, sealed for time and all eternity stuff, and they were so shocked. Then they kept asking about BYU (I know should've known they weren't members) but I just thought they were ignorant Cali people.

There is a lot of drunk and poor people here (barrachos y pobres) and wow you can smell the pot. We have some as our neighbors so at night its pretty funny. There was this guy on the street by his car and asked us (so we thought) "do you want some weed?" we said no but he kept asking, he then clarified that he said "Do you want sandwich?" and so we got an amazing meal and a contact out of him, it was hilarious.

Apparently there are mini teremotors in LA, but my comp (who has been out about 8-9 months) only felt his first one this last week, apparently I slept through it. I HATE DRIVING! We have to parallel park everyday and it is a struggle. Neither of us knows the area, because this is his 4th week and my first, but hey we are learning. The ward is pretty nice. The 1st counselor prank called me: he acted like an angry Latino who caught me cheating on his wife, he said the I was the white one out of the white and black dudes in white (this was on the intercambio) so I was freaking out. He was saying that he was gonna get me and that he wasn't scared of going back to jail. I told him in my lawyer voice that he needed to think clearly, that he was accusing me based on the color of my skin and that he accused a messenger of God. That he may as well kill me cause there was no way I wouldn't get him good back (I don't know how to work the phones so I didn't know how to call 911) any-who, they told me who it was and we all laughed SO FUNNY. I think that's pretty much it this week, I mean, besides a "normal" mission everything is normal.

Nothing bad, stomach hurt a bit but I'm fine now, the pillow is nice. I go to bed sweating and wake up freezing, yes I have a blanket and everything, I guess its just cold. I am slowly figuring out the budget that I have, nothing a little math wont' fix. I am also tutoring some kids on math and then we teach the parents about the gospel, looks like algebra and geometry do come in handy, on the mish of course. I think that’s it. 

Emily, how do I convert Catholics? Everyone says "Soy Catolica" and then doesn't want to talk anymore, so frustrating.

P.S.  Just so you know, I don't know when I will call, I just know that I am. We have to coordinate with members to use their skype and such so IDK. It is only going to be 40 minutes long. Our testimony meeting was different, because I didn't understand what was going on and I guess it was a bunch of old people talking about their weird dreams and such. (I'm writing what I forgot in case you guessed already) A lady that we stopped on her bike told us that we are deceived by the devil. Elder W is whitty like us so he asked 'how?' she said that we don't "believe" in god. We told her our purpose as missionaries and if she wanted to learn more. She said that she knew catholicism was true because God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit appeared to her. When we asked in what form or how he appeared to her she said he told her that she was doing good. We told her that that's amazing. We asked how she was able to have that dream and she told us that she has just lived her life the way God would want, we told her that she should've shook his hand, and then we walked off hahaha.
